Heists in Europe lead to Escorts in Canada 😳🇨🇦

A KitKat delivery truck is seen on a Highway in Toronto, Ontario being guarded and escorted by over four security trucks after a massive Heist in Europe. 😨🍫

In late March 2026, thieves pulled off one of the wildest food heists in recent history after stealing a truck carrying around 12 tonnes of KitKat bars in Europe.

The shipment included over 410,000 special edition Formula 1 car-shaped KitKat bars that were being transported from Italy to Poland before suddenly going missing.

Nestlé has since confirmed the truck and its contents are still unaccounted for, and has launched a tracking system using batch codes to help identify the stolen chocolate if it resurfaces on unofficial markets.

The situation has raised concerns across the industry, especially with the products expected to hit shelves around Easter, potentially causing shortages in parts of Europe.

Following the heist, companies have reportedly started increasing security measures, with some trucks now being escorted during transport to prevent similar incidents. The impact is even being felt overseas, with tighter precautions appearing in places like Canada as well.

Despite the seriousness, Nestlé even leaned into the moment, calling it a “break” on their slogan and turning it into what they described as a real-life detective story.

This is now being called one of the biggest international food thefts in recent memory.
