50-year-old Crossing Guard left in life-threatening condition after Hit-and-Run in Barrhaven‼️😰💔

Ottawa police are searching for a driver after a school crossing guard was struck in a hit-and-run Monday morning in Barrhaven.

The incident happened around 8:20 a.m. at the intersection of Cedarview Road and Kennevale Drive, near Mary Honeywell Elementary School. 

The victim, a man in his 50s, was on duty at the time and was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police say the driver fled the scene and are now looking for a dark-coloured Ford F-150 believed to be involved.

Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage to come forward as the investigation continues.

The incident comes on School Crossing Guard Day, making the situation even more heartbreaking for the community.
