❗️Speed Racer is officially racing back into theaters and this time, it’s in full 4K.

Warner Bros is giving the cult-classic film a limited theatrical re-release across 225 U.S. theaters, kicking off on April 25, with only three total showings: April 25, 26, and 29.

This isn’t a wide comeback it’s more like a short, exclusive event for fans who’ve been waiting years to see it properly restored on the big screen.

Originally released in 2008 and directed by the Wachowskis, Speed Racer was way ahead of its time visually basically a live-action anime with insane color grading, CGI-heavy racing, and editing styles that didn’t really click with audiences back then.

But over the years, it’s built a serious cult following, especially among car enthusiasts and film nerds who now appreciate how bold and experimental it actually was.

The 4K upgrade is a big deal here, because this movie relies heavily on color, motion, and detail so seeing it remastered in modern resolution should hit completely different compared to the original release.
