WrestleMania Weekend is an important weekend for any wrestler, creator, influencer, photographer —or whatever you want to call yourself in this space. It’s also a very important weekend for thewrestlingclassic.

From 2019-2022 I did not attend. I was still grinding growing the page, posting consistently, forced to change the entire way this page operated, start fresh, doing the TWC Show, and growing as an interviewer. I did do some conventions, worked some gigs for some other companies and even started getting approved for AEW media. 

2023 was the year I realized I needed to be like my old self and go to shows again, especially WrestleMania. For years, I was a little bummed about getting rejected by WWE. I applied every year with very little expectation that things would change… and I was still rejected. 

But I knew I had to go again. With it being in a place I consider a second home—California—I had no excuse. I was already in the state because I went to AEW Revolution in the Bay.

I also truly started believing in the idea of “out of sight, out of mind.” I needed people to see me again in person to open closed doors. 

No media pass. No tickets. No access to any events—until I started hitting people up once I got there.

I just bet on myself that it would be worth it. 

It was me putting in the work to make things happen. It was me making the most of the friends and connections I’d built over the years.

I’ll never forget what WrestleMania 39 weekend meant to me. Everything changed the following year when I finally got approved as media for WrestleMania 40. I had been applying since WrestleMania 33, by the way.

It’s definitely gotten easier to get there faster now, but it’s still a grind. I never take it for granted.

If you’re a creator, influencer, streamer or anyone that feels dejected or rejected from opportunity - be patient and stay hungry. Reach out to people and bet on yourself. Keep your head up and keep doing the thing. I hope to see you in Vegas. ✌🏽🖤
