On Saturday, 11 April, US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) struck two vessels ‘operated by Designated Terrorist Organisations’ in the Eastern Pacific, killing five people.⁣

Aerial footage released Sunday captured the vessels exploding.⁣
⁣
SOUTHCOM confirmed the ships were on narco-trafficking routes; two men died in the first strike, while three were killed in the second. One individual survived the initial attack, prompting a search-and-rescue mission.⁣

Carried out by Joint Task Force Southern Spear to disrupt cocaine and fentanyl flows, this operation brings the total number of narco-terrorists killed in the region to at least 168 since September 2025.⁣
