Multi-company training brings crews from different stations together to operate as one team. Because most emergencies require more than one crew, practicing side by side helps firefighters communicate clearly, step into defined roles, and integrate seamlessly when additional resources arrive. These types of drills take place at training sites across the state to ensure consistency and readiness statewide.

Last week, firefighters in the calfiresanluisobispo trained together to sharpen their rope rescue skills during a multi-company drill. Crews practiced rescuing patients from steep or hard-to-reach areas, including setting up rope systems, safely securing patients, moving them over edges, and coordinating team lifts and lowers. Training like this helps ensure faster, safer responses when real emergencies happen.
