Through CAL FIRE’s Vegetation Management Program, firefighters with the (tag) CAL FIRE San Bernardino/Inyo/Mono Unit recently worked on a 1,400-acre fuel-reduction project near Independence.

The reduced vegetation that could fuel wildfire, removed invasive plants, and restored wildlife habitat to help lower wildfire risk and protect nearby communities.
CAL FIRE engages in fuels reduction work and fire prevention activities year-round.
