but on a more serious note, I can’t believe it’s already been a year from when I made a personal commitment to stop taking my body for granted after dropping a 25 pound weight on my toe 😭. that experienced terrified me more than any sprain or dislocation ever did while playing college ball, likely because of the grief I carry from losing a loved one so suddenly. grief has made me hyper aware of my own mortality which sucks at times but has also been the biggest blessing because it’s pushed me to start seeing what I’m truly capable of. 

what happened since I made that commitment has been really special to witness. I’m watching my body change (expected) along with my mind and my spirit (unexpected). choosing to show up for myself consistently and pushing myself to do hard things regardless of my feelings has been transformative.

if you’re in a season that feels harder than usual, I challenge you to put yourself in situations that force you to be uncomfortable - situations that require you to show up as the future version of yourself. most seasons are hard because they demand a different version of us and I believe that’s where impostor syndrome likes to show up and steal our confidence. 

you’re not an impostor though. you just lack confidence because you lack evidence that you can do hard things. so that thing you’ve been avoiding, go do that. then do it again. and again and again. it won’t get easier, but you’ll get better.
