Pregnancy symptoms are often brushed off as “just part of it”.

And yes… a lot of them are.

Your body is changing, adapting, growing a human, of course you’re going to feel that.

But what’s really interesting is how different it looks for everyone.

Some women have very mild symptoms, others struggle a lot more and that difference isn’t always random.

Because pregnancy doesn’t just change your body…
it increases the demand on it.

And that tends to highlight what’s already going on underneath:

your nutrient status
your digestion
your blood sugar
your overall resilience

Even for me, I had extreme fatigue in my first trimester.

Not just tired… I mean barely functioning, even a short walk would wipe me out.

And yes, pregnancy can make you tired… but this felt like more.

Before I got pregnant, my bloods showed low iron and an underfunctioning thyroid. + I was coming out of a period of grief. My body was already under stress, so it made sense.

That’s why I don’t love the idea of just “riding it out”.

Take heartburn as an example.

Pregnancy relaxes the valve between your stomach and oesophagus and increases pressure upwards, so it’s very common.

But the severity often reflects your digestion:

• Low stomach acid → more reflux
• Slower motility → more pressure
• Dysbiosis → more gas

Same pregnancy.
Completely different experience.

And this applies to so many symptoms — constipation, nausea, fatigue, even bleeding gums or varicose veins.

This isn’t about over-analysing or expecting pregnancy to feel perfect…

but your body is giving you feedback.

So instead of just “riding it out”…

what might your body need right now?
