"After marching 4 years in Blue Devils, I went back east to teach The Cadets. This was a culture shock. Complete polar opposite in terms of approach to pretty much everything. Tom Aungst and I taught together for the first time, and we revamped a lot of the program, and the percussion section went from 9th to 2nd in one year. It showed me that if everyone is truly committed it really is possible to overcome some serious odds, and to trust the process."⁠
