## Caption

We believe that our field can hold multiple truths at once, even if those truths contradict each other. It may be uncomfortable at times, but this is the skill that allows us to find pathways and solutions that go beyond the binary trap of trying to decide who is right and who is wrong (as if this would solve the actual problem).

What do we mean by this? 

Here is a list of opposing truths:

ASHA is a flawed, bureaucratic organization AND its existence is currently tied to the legal and professional framework of our careers.

Clinicians deserve significantly higher pay and better negotiation power AND many facilities operate on razor-thin margins and rigid productivity requirements.

Social media is a toxic engine for outrage and binary thinking AND it is a vital tool for connecting clinicians and sharing critical perspectives.

Our credentials can feel like a useless financial burden  AND they represent the specialized, evidence-based skills we bring to our patients every day.

We can feel deeply angry about the state of the field AND we can still be deeply committed to the work of being a curious, thoughtful clinician. 

Individual clinicians are not responsible for systemic failures AND we are the only ones with the collective power to change the system.

If you can sit with these contradictions without needing to pick a side immediately, you're exactly who we’re talking to. We’re moving past the binary of good/bad and into the actual work of being a clinician in today's world.
