Dear Assistant,

Thanks for helping out again today. As promised, here’s a summary of the shoot below.

I used the Canon EOS R5 Mark II along with their RF24-70mm F2.8 L IS USM lens.

Especially in such a dynamic outdoor space, I love being able to go wide and zoomed-in while keeping everything so sharp.

Speaking of zoomed-in, our first location was by the tight stairwell.

The first thing I noticed wasn’t necessary the staircase itself, it was the light peeking in at the top of it.

And because of all the lines guiding our eyes up the stairs, I decided a movement in the pose made most sense.

The guidance that I made sure to add in there was to drop the coat on one shoulder or else her whole body would be engulfed by the coat.

For the second location with the big grass field, I really wanted to explore a concept where we only see green as the backdrop - which means I had to find a higher vantage point to shoot down at her

The biggest thing to take away from this shoot is to play. Don’t take things at face value. How do you have the light behind the model or on the side of the model? What about a really low or high angle?

Alright ping me if you have any questions.

Always slaying,
David
