Happy International Women’s Day.

Depending on who you ask, it is either an important global moment for reflection… or the day brands suddenly discover the colour pink.

But the reason the day exists is serious.

International Women’s Day, marked every year on 8 March, grew out of the early twentieth-century women’s labour movement and remains a reminder that gender equality is still unfinished work. The theme for 2026 is “Balance the Scales,” a call to confront the structural barriers that continue to shape women’s safety, opportunity and visibility across society, including sport and media.

At Glorious, International Women’s Day matters. But it is also a reminder that the work cannot be contained in a single Sunday in March.

Scroll through the carousel and you will see a small snapshot of the kind of stories we get to tell. The athletes at the centre of them. The photographers and creatives who capture the moments. The artists, writers and collaborators who help bring those stories to life. Some of the people in these images you will recognise from Glorious features. Others are the creative forces behind the scenes.

Together they represent the reason this platform exists and the world of women’s sport we are working to document, celebrate and grow.

If we are doing our job properly, every day should look a little bit like International Women’s Day.
