Today I’m sharing a very special picture book read aloud of THREE PIECES OF BROKEN GLASS by award-winning author 
emilybarthisler and illustrated by vesperillustration is a deeply touching and powerful story about history, family, and what we choose to hold onto. 💛

This is a story filled with both joy and heartbreak. From a hopeful wedding tradition, to the painful memories of Kristallnacht when Jewish homes and businesses were destroyed. Through the telling of this beautiful story, we see how even broken things can still create something beautiful.

I can’t think of a more appropriate day for this important book to be shared with the world, in recognition of Yom HaShoah, a day of remembrance for the Holocaust. It’s a time to honor the lives lost, the stories carried forward, and the strength, courage, and determination of those who survived.

Emily’s story reminds us that remembering matters, and that even the hardest histories deserve to be told, especially to the next generation. And that sometimes, like in those small pieces of glass, light still finds its way through.💛
