New Updates for Working Women’s Health in the UK 📢

𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲 ⚖️

As of 6 April 2026, Northern Ireland has led the way. Statutory Paid Miscarriage Leave is now a "day one" right there. NI employers must provide two weeks of paid leave for pregnancy loss at any stage. In the rest of the UK, this is currently unpaid or only for late-stage loss.

This April, the Government appointed Mariella Frostrup as the Women’s Employment Ambassador. She will advocate for women’s health and wellbeing in the workplace nationwide.

Large firms now encouraged starting to publish a voluntary Menopause Action Plan before they become mandatory in 2027.

Companies are asked to commit to at least one practical measure:

Tailored workplace adjustments 🛠️
Revised uniform policies 👕
Internal support groups 🤝

What are your thoughts on these updates? Do you feel these steps go far enough to support women at work, or is there more you would like to see prioritised in the coming year?
