It has been 65 years since #Purdue astronaut Gus Grissom’s Liberty Bell 7 flight thrilled spectators across the globe. But what does Grissom’s pioneering legacy mean to kids today? 🚀 

We invited schoolchildren from Houston’s Virgil I. Grissom Elementary School — named in his honor in 1968 — to share their artwork celebrating the legendary astronaut’s career. Here are some of their submissions.
