Since my last bodybuilding competition in 2023, I’ve been living with no satiety and recently for the first time in 3 years, I’m no longer hungry...

It may sound strange to a lot of people but a lot of competitors lose their ability to feel full or satisfied with anything they eat, which is often one of the main things that lead to binge eating.

How long it lasts really depend on the individual with some, like myself, take a lot longer to regain that satiety. My competition prior to the last took me 8 months.

Although I did gain some weight post-comp this time around, I was fortunate enough not to binge and it was all pretty controlled so I eventually recovered. However, the one thing that never came back this time was my satiety.

I initially contributed it to me maintaining 10-12% body fat and thought this is probably what I would have to live with if I wanted to maintain this level of conditioning all year round. I’d go to sleep hungry, wake up starving, rinse and repeat.

I didn’t really mind it as it gave me the ability to eat lots of food, but I always wondered if living like this was actually maintainable super long term.

But now these past couple of months I recently realised that I stop eating not because I’m bored of that food, but because I’m satisfied... (This must sound crazy to a lot of people 😂).

It may not be much, but for those out there battling this never ending hunger, I can say from experience now that it eventually ends. The fear of overeating, the fear of undoing your hard work, the fear of food - those voices will disappear and you’ll eventually be able to maintain that physique you’re chasing. So don’t give up and keep on trucking along friend 🫶🏼
