Same Day. Both me. Two different results🧠⬇️

First things first, life update! I am playing in the Netherlands for a couple months for roefdames1... We had our first double header yesterday and I could feel myself getting in my head the first game.

I hadn’t thrown much these past couple weeks to give my arm a break after my season in Mexico and instead of trusting what I know how to do, I started trying to control everything.

All game I was: guiding my throw, thinking about mechanics mid play, and overall just tight (and it showed)

During the second game, I told myself to chill out “I’ve done too many throwdowns to even count through my career, I know that I am a good catcher” …. My coaches reminded me to chill out as well lol

So I stopped trying to be perfect and just played softball. Everything cleaned up immediately.

Same exact plays, similar mechanics (better mechanics in the second for sure), completely different results.

I have played at professional levels and this still happens to me. You’re not always “off.” Sometimes you’re just thinking too much.

This also makes me think about trust in your preparation. Simply put:
Prepared = confident
Unprepared = unconfident

This is exactly what we work on inside my program, not just mechanics, but trusting them under pressure if you have a problem with overthinking, comment or DM me the word “CATCH” and let’s talk🧠
