For the first time in program history, Alabama A&M University has secured a share of the Southwestern Athletic Conference regular-season championship, marking a breakthrough campaign for the Lady Bulldogs and head coach Dawn Thornton 👏🏾🔥

The historic milestone was clinched following a 51–43 victory over rival Alabama State University at the AAMU Event Center 🏀 The win completed a regular-season sweep and capped off a dominant 15–1 conference record, as Alabama A&M improved to 19–9 overall and secured the most successful regular season in the program’s Division I era 📈✨

Under Coach Thornton’s leadership, the Lady Bulldogs have built one of the SWAC’s most disciplined defensive identities, controlling tempo, locking in on stops, and finishing games with poise 💪🏾🔒 The championship-clinching performance reflected that toughness from start to finish.
