#StormyWellington says her career has been “significantly affected” following a complaint filed by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) which accused her of making misleading income claims while recruiting people into multilevel marketing companies.

During an interview with Isiah Carey, Wellington addressed the controversy and encouraged other entrepreneurs to be careful about the claims they make publicly. She warned, “Be mindful of the things you say. You can get yourself in big trouble.”

Wellington also said she believes strongly in manifestation and admitted she “spoke things into existence,” but made it clear she is not taking back her success. She acknowledged that some people who joined the business may have expected to make large amounts of money but didn’t, while questioning whether those individuals actually “did the work.”

Wellington adds while some participants didn’t see the results they hoped for, others “made a lot of money,” and she stands on what she has built. As previously reported, the FTC alleges that Wellington used earnings claims to recruit people into companies such as Total Life Changes and Farmasi, suggesting participants could earn six-figure incomes.
