## Caption

We talk of contrast in photography, space in paintings, cool and warm in film all as a balance to the viewer. Yet we strive for the disruption of unharmonious colour and focus. A sort of cultural untaste or unpleasantness to the casual viewer. A pause to catch the eye and disrupt the usual progressive narrative. -There is a desire for instantaneous feedback and manipulation, an immersiveness and expectation of interaction, and technically this is only possible within a narrowish framework of computational effects and overlays.
