## Caption

Video by @michaelgeorgephoto captures an incredible tree phenomenon known as 'crown shyness,' in which fully stocked treetops never touch. Instead, they form intricate gaps between their crowns, creating natural patterns in the canopy. Scientists still aren’t completely sure why it happens. Some believe wind causes branches to collide and break, leading trees to grow apart. Others think trees can actually sense nearby neighbors and avoid blocking each other’s sunlight.
