The 2013-2014 Nissan 370Z Sport 6MT is the Z34 that owners keep telling people to buy — and the market is finally catching up.

Nissan revised the oil gallery gasket material for 2013+, which means the early-car engine anxiety that plagued 2009-2012 Z34s doesn't apply here. The VQ37VHR makes 332 hp and 270 lb-ft naturally aspirated out of a 3.7L aluminum V6. No turbos, no intercooler plumbing, no boost leaks to chase.

The Sport trim is the one you want. It comes with the viscous limited-slip diff, bigger brakes, Rays forged wheels from the factory, and SynchroRev Match on the 6-speed manual. The short-ratio gearbox pulling to 7,000 rpm is one of the best mechanical experiences left in a modern Japanese coupe.

The mod path is straightforward — intake, exhaust, and an ECU tune on established platforms get real gains without opening the engine. The FM chassis takes wheel and suspension upgrades without fighting you, and it's one of the best modern Japanese platforms for clean fitment.

The one thing to budget for: the concentric slave cylinder. It's integrated into the bell housing, so if it goes, the transmission comes out. Check clutch pedal feel on any pre-purchase inspection. If it's soft or inconsistent, that's your leverage. Handle the CSC once and you're set.

Clean 2013-2014 Sport 6MTs are getting harder to find as people realize these revised cars don't carry the same baggage as the early models. If you've been circling one, this is the window.
