Frank Ocean and Chris Brown’s beef was one of the wildest celebrity clashes of the 2010s 😭

It started in 2011, when Frank tweeted criticism of Chris Brown’s Grammy performance and public image, during a period when Brown was already heavily scrutinized. 

Things escalated in January 2013, when the two had a physical altercation outside Westlake Recording Studios in Los Angeles. Frank said he got “jumped by Chris and a couple guys,” and also reportedly told authorities that a homophobic slur was used during the fight.

Odd Future immediately rallied behind Frank. Tyler, the Creator publicly mocked Brown online, while other members threw support behind Frank during the fallout. Frank then added more fuel by rewriting Migos’ “Versace” lyrics on Tumblr with the line “you could stay seated, I’m taking that Grammy,” referencing Chris Brown remaining seated while Frank accepted his Grammy weeks earlier.

Frank has rarely ever engaged in public drama, so this is one of the craziest moments to look back on in his career.
