A doctor reported racist texts and a CEO's hidden conflict of interest at one of PA's biggest hospital systems. Days before his defense hearing, he was fired. 

- Dr. Hemal Gada was president of UPMC's Heart & Vascular Institute
- He discovered UPMC's CEO was secretly on the board of a company doing multi-million dollar deals with UPMC — and being paid $300K+ for it
- He reported racist texts between two doctors saying patients don't want "brown physicians with accents."
- He was suspended, then fired the day BEFORE his scheduled defense hearing
- He's now suing under the PA Whistleblower Act and federal retaliation law

UPMC has declined to comment.
