#SaturdayStorytime - Don’t Be Jelle
Before we get too far into the year and have to hear all about the kings of the echo bike a hundred more times let me tell you a tale of my echo bike dark horse. A man with no fear. jellehoste and the day he took a dump on both jhopper3 and dallinpepper at the same time.
At fitfest_uk in 2023 we had mixed teams of 6 and on day had to split the team in half. 3 members did a Jackie relay and 3 did a brutal echo bike/toes to bar workout. No one really wanted to do that workout, except for Jelle. He wanted all the smoke.
I had a fast Jackie and was on that crew, but on the walk to the venue jackfarlow was giving me some song and dance about how he’s been working on that type of stuff and wanted a test. He was still just a boy, so I traded him workouts and walked myself to slaughter.
The workout in question was 3 rounds. 40 cals on 2 different echo bikes then 40 synchro toes to bar (I think). After making peace with the swap I made a medium aggressive gameplay and talked to Jelle and kelskiel . One of the other teams was Dallin, Jayson and daniellebrandon7 , so to be honest my expectations of winning were tempered 😂. Jelle just looked at me and said “we need to be much more aggressive, I’m tired of hearing about how good they are on the bike”.
He then read out his plan. And it was aggressive. I won’t bore you with the details but it had him doing a lot of bike alone at a hard pace and I had to take lots of toes to bar and step in for one tough bike shift. I gotta tell ya, Jelle pumped me up big time. He had me convinced. I’d go to the wall for him.
Everyone had a crucial shift during the workout and nailed their posts. Kelsey and I got to finish the last bike together while Jelle did his alone and anytime we felt tired you could just peek over and watch that man hustle. Problem solved. 
He burnt down his last bike and didn’t even come to the rig. We cleaned up the toes to bar and walked to a finish well ahead of the rest of the teams.
I have never seen someone so elated to beat those boys on a bike workout 😂. We rode that high for a bit and talked some mad shit. bless you Jelle thanks for believing in us. 👑
