Black and white may occasionally be written off as minimal, but in practice, it’s one of the most psychologically active palettes you can design with.

Stripped of distraction, contrast becomes the focus. Black grounds the space, creating a sense of structure and authority. While opens it up, allowing light and clarity to take hold. Together they establish a rhythm that supports both focus and creative thinking – especially in a functional workspace, where balance is everything.

Add hand painted wallcovering to the equation, and the simplicity of the color palette gains nuance; subtle variation between brushstrokes for interest and charm, texture to add depth and character, and movement to keep the space from feeling static. 

All proving a restrained palette can still convey energy and intention.
