A BRUTAL BASERUNNING MISTAKE 🤯

Team Japan was tied 0-0 against Team Australia when Shugo Maki was picked off at 2nd base with the bases loaded and 2 outs. 

What’s worse? SHOHEI OHTANI WAS AT THE PLATE

A lot of credit goes to Team Australia here for their perfect execution but this is an example of something that CAN. NOT. HAPPEN. on the bases

Samurai Japan did go on to win the ballgame 4-3 to clinch the No. 1 seed in the Tokyo Pool. So luckily it didn’t end up costing them too bad. But what a moment it could’ve been 🤷🏻‍♂️
