Before the league looked like us, there was him. 🏀 Earl Lloyd made history as the first Black player to play in an NBA game, breaking barriers in 1950 during a time when the league, and the country, weren’t built for him to succeed.

Coming out of West Virginia State University , Lloyd didn’t just step onto the court… he stepped into history.
