I've laughed out loud in restaurants, held my tummy because I couldn't stop laughing and have felt my heart skip a beat with everything I felt. 

I picked it up at the store because the title was interesting. I had heard of it, of course. It was in my wishlist for a while. But in that moment, this book pulled me in so much that after contemplating for about an hour, I ended up buying it AND actually reading it (if you know me, you'd know that I buy a thousand books but there are only a few that I actually end up reading). I DNFed the book inwas reading back then (it was Sarah Adams' In My Dreams) and started reading it right there, at Champaca (where I bought it). I sat there with it. For a while. Then read it at a cafe where I went to meet a friend. By the time I came back, I was already 60 or so pages in the book. I couldn't stop. Even made my friend read excerpts from the book!

Everyone in this room will someday be dead is a book that makes you question your beliefs, your thoughts, how you go about your daily life (I'm honestly running on autopilot these days) and the many hypocrisies we come across in life. It literally puts down our fears into words. 

The story is about a woman who is in depression, is anxious about everything around her and is seeking help even though she never finds one. It's her story - how she's scared about people dying around her, how she ends up working as an assistant at the church despite being gay and an atheist, how she gets obsessed with the previous assistant at the church who had passed away. And how she ends up finding hope in times when she thinks everything around her will fall apart. 

In one word, it's hopeful. It makes you realise that the world can fall apart, but there will always be people who love you for who you are, who will stand by you when you most need them. You just have to believe in yourself. And have a little faith in the world.
