“The day I visited the insulin exhibit at the University of Toronto was quite a beautiful and emotional one. Visiting the Banting and Best display was not only informative, but likened to a pilgrimage of sorts. If not for the arduous and diligent research, work, experimentation, and ultimately the accomplishments of this miraculous team of people and test subjects, I would not have a blessed breath in my body today. It's a bittersweet reality that, I'm sure, has crossed the mind of every person who has lived with or is living with Type 1 Diabetes since the day that ground breaking discovery was made: without insulin, there is no life. Every single moment is a blessing. It is hard to describe exactly how it felt, other than I am filled with amazement and true gratitude." - CrystalBowersox on her experience at the Banting and Best Display at the University of Toronto.
