SAVE this as your 2027 Songkran reminder! If you’re heading to Songkran for the first time next year, here’s everything you NEED to know before you step outside:

- Where you stay matters…A LOT. Pick your area wisely because there are water fights EVERYWHERE but some areas go harder than others. Khao San Road and Siam are the most popular. If you want a calmer experience, stay slightly outside those zones.

- You are NOT watching the water fight, honey, you are IN it and there’s no “I’ll just watch.” No one is safe. If you don’t like being splashed, soaked, or surprised attacked… this is your warning. Stay home and don’t come to Thailand during Songkran!!

- Come dressed for battle. Quick-dry clothes, sneakers (NOT sandals), and NOTHING you’d be upset about ruining. Cute outfits last 5 minutes out here.

- Waterproof EVERYTHING. Phone pouch = mandatory. Cash/cards = protected. If it can’t survive a tsunami, it shouldn’t be with you. Period.

- Respect the culture. Yes, it’s fun but this is New Year in Thailand and a part of culture. You’ll see temple visits, blessings, and water poured respectfully on elders. The water tradition is symbolic: cleansing, renewal, and good luck. Always be respectful even when having fun! 

- Timing is everything. Start early if you want a softer intro into the water wars because No one is going to spare you. By afternoon? It’s a full-blown water war. By evening? There is NO dry zone.

- Protect your eyes & energy. Sunglasses help A LOT (trust me). And pace yourself….the heat, crowds, and constant movement will wear you out fast.

- Stay hydrated (yes, really). You’re surrounded by water but still need to drink actual water. Dehydration sneaks up QUICK in that heat.

-Go with the flow. You will get soaked. Your hair? Gone. Makeup? Gone. Plans? Also gone. And that’s exactly the point. Enjoy Songkran! See you in 2027! #explorepage #bangkok #thailand #songkran
