After sharing how we hold the boys in guppy position, a lot of questions came in.

So here’s a deeper look at something that’s been a game changer for us: bodywork for babies.

Before this, I didn’t fully understand what it was. But the more I learned, the more it made sense. Babies go through a lot to get Earthside. Even “textbook” births can be physically intense experiences on their little bodies.

And in our case?

Both boys had beautiful, healthy deliveries,
but they were also physically demanding with one being OP (sunny side up) and one being breech.

So we started to wonder, what if some of the fussiness, the tension, and the difficulty settling
wasn’t just normal newborn behavior? What if their bodies were holding onto that experience?

Bodywork for babies uses gentle Cranial Fascial Therapy techniques to help the fascial system unwind and release tension. When that system is tight or restricted, it can affect feeding, sleep, comfort, and overall regulation.

And what we saw with our twins was fascinating. One baby responded almost immediately, softening, settling, and visibly more at ease. The other? Needed more time. More support. More unwinding.

Same environment. Same care. Completely different bodies. And that alone was enough to remind me that babies aren’t one-size-fits-all.
Even identical twins.

The sessions themselves are incredibly gentle. loveofalittleone uses small, intentional movements that follow baby’s cues and allow their system to release what it’s holding. Nothing forced. Nothing aggressive. Just listening to their bodies.

For us, it felt like one of those things where worst case scenario, nothing changes. But best case? Everything softens. And honestly? It’s been one of the best investments we’ve made.

We just wish we had known about it sooner with our other babies.
