Here are 4 signs a truck has been neglected👇🏼
 (that most owners miss until it’s too late):

1.  Frequent or longer-than-normal DPF regens — If your diesel is forcing regens every 100–200 miles or they’re taking forever, soot buildup from skipped services or poor fuel quality is likely the culprit. Ignored too long and you risk DPF/SCR failure.

2.  Soft or spongy coolant hoses + unexplained small coolant top-offs — Hoses that feel mushy or require frequent top-ups signal aging cooling system components and potential micro-leaks. This quietly leads to overheating or head gasket issues, especially under tow loads.

3.  Increased electrical gremlins or corroded battery terminals — Random dash glitches, slow power windows, or flickering lights often point to neglected battery maintenance and corrosion. On trucks with big electrical demands (winches, lights, accessories), this can cascade into alternator or wiring failures.

4.  Subtle loss of power under load with no check engine light — Not the dramatic “limp mode,” but that gradual feeling like the truck just isn’t pulling like it used to when towing or merging. Often caused by partially clogged injectors, dirty air filters, or turbo issues from deferred maintenance.
