Keepy uppies are a brilliant way to develop control, weight of touch, and coordination with the ball!⁠
⁠
Here are 5 levels to help children improve their skills step by step while building confidence:⁠
⁠
1️⃣ Bounce, Kick, Catch!⁠
Start simple. Let the ball bounce once between each kick, then catch it. Focus on using one foot to build rhythm and control.⁠
⁠
2️⃣ Bounce, Kick, Bounce, Kick, Catch!⁠
When they’re ready, add more kicks with a bounce in between. Challenge them to see how many they can do before catching. Encourage them to use both feet!⁠
⁠
3️⃣ Bounce, Kick, Kick, Catch!⁠
Take it up a notch by removing the bounce between kicks. Keep the ball in the air for two kicks before catching. Start with one foot, then progress to alternating feet.⁠
⁠
4️⃣ Kick, Kick, Catch!⁠
Now it’s time to remove the bounce entirely! Focus on keeping the ball in the air for two or more kicks, catching it after.⁠
⁠
5️⃣ All In!⁠
With their confidence sky-high, challenge them to keep the ball up as long as they can. ⁠

Remind kids to practise regularly, stay patient, and most importantly, have fun! ⁠
