On the day you came into this world we were both born.  I prayed for you for years and i always imagined how it would feel to have you in my arms. 
The truth is the first weeks i had this inexplainable fear that you weren’t mine. I knew that i loved you but it was really hard to connect to the fact that i was your mom... i would say it out loud to myself everyday and i would still feel the fear that it wasn’t real. I was so frustrated at myself because i was supposed to be the happiest I’ve ever been, i finally had my blessing and i couldn’t stop crying.  I had to constantly look at the pictures of you when you were born to remind myself that it was real. I still feel a little cloud lingering over me but i definitely feel so much better. 
When the depression finally lifted it felt like a waterfall of emotions.... of love.. a connection that is unbreakable.. my heart in human form. 
My heart races when you put your cheek on my cheek and hold my face while i rock you to sleep. I feel like it’s your way of telling me you love me too. 

Mother’s Day this year means so much more to me than you can imagine. It’s true when they say that a mother is reborn on the day their baby is. I have this new purpose. Out of all of the jobs I’ve ever had being your mother is my absolute favorite. It’s challenging, and terrifying because I just want to be perfect for you. I can’t wait to continue to grow together and grow our bond stronger. Thank you for choosing me and making me stronger everyday. 

Today is the day for all mothers.. soon to be mothers.. mothers with angel babies... aunts, sisters and family members that act as mothers in our lives. Today is for you! I never realized how powerful the “sisterhood of motherhood” is until i became a mom. The amount of support, advice and love i received from so many mommies opened my eyes to how remarkable motherhood really is.
