#loralyees25daysofchristmas Day 17 is dedicated to what “Body Positivity” means to me! Everyone has different definitions of body positivity and they express themselves in different ways. I have been plus size my whole life. I have always expressed body positivity by being dressed up everywhere i go. Fashion has been my form of expression. Growing up, i always felt like i had to overly dress to be respected or liked. I always needed the newest trends and had to always wear new outfits. At first, i did it because i subconsciously wanted people to look past my weight and like me because of my clothes. As i got older, i took control and used my fashion to spread a message. Plus bodies can dress up too! We can feel powerful in a suit or elegant in a gown. We should feel beautiful in our birthday outfits and excited to dress up for a holiday! My body can wear whatever i feel positive and beautiful in. I will continue to dress up and show out!! Im body positive everyday.. when i walk into work with my work clothes, when i sit on the train. When i shop in a store and have to go in a small corner to find my size. When i order food and people stare. Even with my newest struggle of trying to get pregnant, staying positive about my body and not hating it is my newest way of focusing on being “body positive” Everyday i am body positive, I don’t need to show my body without clothes to prove that i love my body. This is how i express myself.. every damn day of my life.. in my body.. i would love to know what body positivity means to you!! Share you’re story! Use hashtag #whatbodypositivitymeanstome .
