Fred Korematsu was arrested and convicted for defying the government’s order and refusing to go to the camps. He appealed the case all the way to the Supreme Court. This dark period in American history echoes today. President Trump and his administration are targeting anyone they think might be immigrants, removing people from their families and communities, and harming people who show up to defend their neighbors – including the shooting and killing of Alex Pretti and Renee Good. To honor Fred Korematsu's legacy, and all the Japanese Americans who were unjustly incarcerated – and to support communities who are being targeted with similar tactics today – we must take action together. 🔶 Follow @denshoproject to learn about Japanese American history and its connection to promoting justice and equity today. 🔶 This Saturday, February 21 at 1pm: Join @tsuruforsolidarity and @laresistencianw for a solidarity rally at the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma.
