You might be wondering why I never posted anything from #Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury following Friday’s locker clean out day. That’s because the fifth year GM offered nothing of substance to reporters when he was asked specific questions.

Since Friday, both nypostsports and theathletichq have reported that since 2023, Drury has regularly done news conferences virtually and in an overall limited format.

Reporters have no chance for follow up questions to be answered, they are not available to be viewed by the public and, on top of that, these calls have been limited to a maximum of 15 minutes.

When asked about specifics for the offseason, Drury only echoed head coach Mike Sullivan’s comments of looking for puck-moving defensemen and improving the bottom six.

A reminder that Drury, 49, was signed to a multi-year contract extension last season.
