Been doing some testing. If you've seen your photos being uploaded in crazy black and white, I think what's happening is Facebook is detecting that your image contains HDR information and it's trying to display them properly but it seems to be only showing the contrast layer (the extreme lights and darks).

HDR (high dynamic range) images/videos are those ones that look really bright and show the lights/darks very clearly, compared to how things normally look. They contain much more image information than a normal standard image does. If the platform you're sharing them to supports displaying them as HDR, it will. If your image/video doesn't have HDR information, it'll display them as normal SDR (standard dynamic range). One single layer of information. 

Some workarounds for this until Facebook fixes it: 

• take a screenshot of your image and post that instead. It won't keep the HDR stuff.

• go into your camera settings and disable HDR/Ultra HDR/HDR+ etc when taking photos/videos. 

• edit the photos or videos in something that exports them without the HDR information. Adobe Lightroom Mobile seems to work. Snapseed seems to work as well. 

• if you're using Android, edit in Google Photos > Lighting > set Ultra HDR to 0 

• edit your photos on a computer in a program like MSpaint. Simply open them and then export as PNG/JPG and it should strip the HDR info. 

• find a website that removes HDR from images

I'm not sure how to do it on iOS/Mac sorry but it's probably similar.
