Taken from us far too soon. Happy birthday, Selena 🌹🙏🕊️

Selena Quintanilla, famously known as the “Queen of Tejano Music,” was a trailblazing artist who bridged the gap between Mexican and American pop culture, becoming the first Tejano artist to win a Grammy for Best Mexican-American Album in 1994. Throughout her iconic career, she released chart-topping hits including “Como La Flor” (1992), “Amor Prohibido” (1994), “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom” (1994), “No Me Queda Más” (1994), and her posthumous crossover smash “Dreaming of You” (1995). Beyond her 36 Tejano Music Awards and 14 Billboard Latin Music Awards, you might find it cool that she was also a fashion designer and entrepreneur who opened her own boutiques, “Selena Etc.”

Tragically, Selena’s life was cut short on March 31, 1995, when she was shot and killed by Yolanda Saldívar, the president of her fan club, during a confrontation over embezzled funds at a motel in Corpus Christi, Texas.
