Darsonval is a high-frequency skincare device that delivers a gentle alternating electrical current through a glass electrode filled with inert gas.
When the electrode touches the skin, it creates a mild electrical discharge and a small amount of ozone on the surface.

Darsonval is commonly used for:
• acne-prone skin
• overactive sebaceous glands
• post-extraction care

Its effects on the skin:
• helps reduce surface bacteria
• supports oil regulation
• improves superficial circulation
• leaves skin feeling fresh and stimulated

This is why darsonval has been used for decades as a professional skin-hygiene tool in facial treatments.

How it’s used for relaxation (indirect method / Viennese massage)

The client holds the electrode (wrapped in gauze) while the practitioner performs manual facial massage.

This technique is called indirect high-frequency or Viennese massage.

In this mode:
• a very mild current flows through the body
• it is drawn toward the practitioner’s hands
• tissues receive gentle stimulation
• many clients experience deep relaxation

This method is traditionally used to support:
• nervous system calming
• comfort and circulation
• a general sense of well-being during treatment

Who should NOT use darsonval

Darsonval should not be used on anyone with:
• pacemaker or implanted electronics
• epilepsy
• pregnancy
• heart conditions
• cancer
• metal implants in the face
• thyroid disorders
• rosacea with fragile capillaries
• inflamed or compromised skin (except targeted acne care)

Darsonval is a skin-level cosmetic device and a relaxation support tool.
It works best as part of a complete facial protocol — not as a stand-alone treatment.
