So, I know I’m a little late to the Frankenparty, but I only just got around to watching it and I like to make sure I’ve done at least the minimum research required 😅. Saying that, a large portion of my degree was Gothic literature and one of the main works we studied was Frankenstein, so watching any adaptation of it ends up feeling a bit like academic study rather than recreation. 

However, filming this Frankenstein ASMR roleplay wasn’t the best recreation time I’ve ever had; I tried my best with the prosthetics, but it was challenging to say the least, and I’m still a bit disappointed with how it all came together in the end. Final grade: room for improvement.

Nevertheless, in this slow-paced, relaxing roleplay, Frankenstein’s creature has found you somewhere up north and is tending to your wounds. Naturally, the lonely boy will take this opportunity to be unapologetically Victorian and get philosophical with you about the nature of humankind, before sewing you up with some very rough mic scratching and brushing. All the while there’s a friendly fire burning nearby while the icy wind wails outside. Enjoy!

FPC (first person cinema) takes all the relaxing elements of ASMR but has much more of a focus on immersion and the suspension of disbelief. It’s kinda like being the main character in your own short movie, with popular figures you know and love, or entirely created worlds – just for you. There won’t be any visible mics or traditional triggers in these videos, and they will seem more unintentional than the usual ASMR videos – but they are unique and relaxing experiences designed to transport you to different places, worlds, and times.
