Two Philadelphia doctors are on TIME's 100 Most Influential People of 2026 list because of their groundbreaking work in gene-editing therapy that led to lifesaving treatment of a baby boy from Delaware County, Pennsylvania. 

Dr. Kiran Musunuru and Dr. Rebecca Ahrens-Nicklas worked together to lead a team from CHOP and Penn that used CRISPR gene-editing to help save KJ Muldoon, who was born with a life-threatening urea cycle disorder.
