A seven-meter high inflatable balloon with an oil paint finish rendering a hyper-realistic satellite image of the Earth, this colossal installation reflects Lee’s interest in communicating environmental issues to the larger public.

Although the work was first conceived in 1989 and staged as participatory performances throughout the following decade, it has become all the more relevant today, speaking to the artist’s extraordinary prescience and, more broadly, his contribution to the social and communal role of art in our society.
