## Caption

Demodex mites are microscopic organisms that live in human hair follicles and sebaceous glands, especially on the face. Nearly all adults host them, usually without harm. They feed on oils and dead skin cells and are active at night. In rare cases, overgrowth can cause skin irritation or rosacea like symptoms. Their presence is a normal part of the skin microbiome and varies between individuals.
