Recent studies have identified microplastics within human ovarian tissue, marking a significant extension of their known bioaccumulation in organs such as blood, lungs, and placenta. These particles, typically less than 5 millimeters in size, can translocate into the body via ingestion, inhalation, or dermal exposure. 

Preliminary evidence suggests their potential to induce oxidative stress, inflammatory responses, and endocrine disruption, which may impair follicular development and reproductive function. This finding underscores the systemic penetration of plastic pollutants and necessitates further toxicological investigation.
