Grateful and proud doesn’t even begin to cover it…

This year, stepping into an Interim Assistant Coaching role for Nebraska Gymnastics after the loss of Coach Jim Hartung was something I never could’ve imagined. To be entrusted with that responsibility—and to serve a program that means so much—changed me.

There is no replacing a legend like Jim. I never stepped in expecting to be him, or to be received the way he was. My only hope was to help carry what he built, in whatever way I could, so there wouldn’t be an empty space where so much greatness once lived. To follow in the footsteps of one of my greatest mentors has been the highest honor—and a responsibility I’ve felt every single day.

What I didn’t expect was how much this team would trust me anyway. That trust is something I don’t take lightly, and something I’ll always be grateful for.

I learned what it really means to love in action: to will the good of others so deeply that their success begins to matter more than your own. To give yourself fully to something bigger than you—and mean it.

Thank you for letting me be part of your journey. Being in the gym with you every day has lit a fire in me that burns deeper than before.  You’ve changed me for the better and I can’t thank you all enough.  I am so proud of every single one of you for what you have overcome and accomplished this season!  Love you guys.
