LIONS TAKE DOWN EAGLES IN FINALE: The jserra.boys_tennis team closed out Trinity League action and the regular season on Thursday with an 11-7 victory over the Santa Margarita Eagles at Santa Margarita Catholic High School.

JSerra completes the season at 19-2 overall and 9-1 in league play, earning at least a share of the league title for the fourth straight season.

All three of the Lions’ doubles tandems earned two victories.

Junior Kayden Kral and sophomore MB Drobot secured wins of 6-4 and 6-3, senior HB Warner and freshman Aidan Andren seized victories of 6-4 and 6-3, and senior Emilio Salgado and junior Enzo Biundo put forth winning efforts of 6-1 and 7-6.

Sophomore Rafael Shaikh was the team’s leading catalyst in singles action, as he picked up victories of 6-4, 6-1, and 7-5.

Junior Robert Thornton claimed a 6-2 win, while senior Jacob Lebrun earned a 6-1 triumph.

The Lions will learn their postseason destination when the CIF-SS Boys Tennis team playoff brackets are released on Saturday, May 2.
