Panathinaikos secured a playoff berth and booked a best-of-five series against Valencia Basket for a spot in the Final Four after a well-deserved 87-79 home win over Monaco in the Play-In as TJ Shorts tied his season high of 21 points. Kenneth Faried racked up 13 points and 8 rebounds while Nikos Rogkavopoulos added 11 as the Greens led from start to finish, at times by as many as 17 points in a fervent atmosphere generated by raucous home fans.

Kendrick Nunn was tightly marked and had a quiet game, amassing 7 points, 4 boards and as many assists, but Shorts stepped up with his best performance in a Panathinaikos jersey and amassed 11 first-quarter points to lead the charge. Mathias Lessort followed with a couple of monster dunks and Panathinaikos was always in control against a battling Monaco side.

The visitors slashed the deficit to 77-70 in the home stretch as Mike James stood out for Monaco with 25 points, 7 assists and 5 boards, but Alpha Diallo (12 points) was his only other teammate to score in double digits.
